COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Competitors will start on the
shoreline at Harry Berry Park in Hollywood. At the start they will then proceed
to a buoy approximately 300 yards offshore (buoy #2) where they will turn left
around the buoy and head north. After three miles they will find a buoy
approximately 150 yards offshore (buoy #3). Competitors will then turn left
around this buoy and head south. After three miles they will encounter a buoy
approximately 150 yards from shore (buoy #1). Competitors participating in the
6 mile race will turn this buoy and head for shore and the finish line.
Competitors participating in the 12 mile race will turn left at this buoy and
head back out to the 300 yard buoy for their second lap.
A
fourth buoy (buoy #4) will be placed approximately 150 yards offshore and 350
yards north of the finish. This buoy will be colored differently and will be
only for the use of the OC6 class to angle gradually to the finish line
at the shoreline.
