Lake Jocassee Paddle Splash

October 13 @ Lake Jocassee, SC, United States

COURSE MAP

The start line is at the State Park's Day Use/Single Vehicle Parking area. There is ample grassy space to stage boats, next to the Eclectic Sun concession.

Both the long (10K or 6.2 mile) and short (5K or 3.1 mile) courses are along the southern shore, usually protected from any wind. Powerboats are present, but seldom numerous; watch for wakes.

Spectators can see the racers pass from either of the remote Day-use boat launch ramps, seen above.

All racers are required to wear a PFD with attached whistle. Safety boats will be stationed along the course. While hazards are uncommon, the lake is large, the shore is rocky, and the water is very deep. Swimmers and SCUBA divers use the lake, so stay observant.
